📣 NEW ACTIVITY OF THE IMPLIC PROJECT !
▶️ Avocats Sans Frontières France in Haiti presents the second video (2/4) in the awareness-raising campaign of the IMPLIC project (Involvement and Participation of Actors for the Protection of the Rights of Persons Deprived of Liberty), in partnership with the Collectif d'Avocat.es spécialisé.es en Litige Stratégique de Droits Humains (CALSDH) and the Institut Mobile d'Education Démocratique (IMED).
🔎 Although Haiti has ratified most of the international human rights conventions, including the Nelson Mandela Rules and the Bangkok Principles, which set universal standards for guaranteeing the dignity of people deprived of their liberty, these standards are still not applied in practice. As illustrated in the video, many obstacles persist, such as prison overcrowding, lack of resources and inadequate infrastructure.
ℹ️ The IMPLIC project aims to strengthen the rule of law and promote respect for human rights in Haiti.
