Illustration : 📣NOUVELLE ACTIVITÉ DU PROJET IMPLIC !

▶️ Avocats Sans Frontières France in Haiti presents its third video (3/4) of the awareness-raising campaign for the IMPLIC project (Involvement and Participation of Actors for the Protection of the Rights of Persons Deprived of Liberty), in partnership with the Collectif d'Avocat.es spécialisé.es en Litige Stratégique de Droits Humains (CALSDH) and the Institut Mobile d'Éducation Démocratique (IMED).
🔎 The Penal Code currently in force in Haiti dates back to 1835. In response to the need for modernisation, a new Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure were adopted in 2020, with implementation scheduled for 2025. These texts represent major advances for human rights, introducing guarantees for people deprived of their liberty, in particular by emphasising rehabilitation. However, their application requires additional efforts, such as the training of judicial personnel, raising awareness in society and the modernisation of justice-related public services.
ℹ️ The IMPLIC project aims to strengthen the rule of law and promote respect for Human Rights in Haiti.
🙏 Thanks to Wando SAINT-VILLIER (Representative of the Courts of First Instance at the Superior Council of the Judiciary), Steeve Noel (IMPLIC Project Manager), and Greef Bouloge PETION (Director of Human Rights Protection at the Office of Citizen Protection) for their contributions.
🤝 This project is supported by the European Union delegation in Haiti and the Agence Française de Développement.
