Women's Rights Day: daily action against violence in Guinea

Illustration : Journée des droits des femmes : agir chaque jour contre les violences en Guinée

March 8 marks International Women's Rights Day, and we take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of taking action every day to defend women's rights and combat the violence they suffer. In Guinea, 67% of Guineans believe it is justified for a man to beat his wife, and 76% consider domestic violence to be a private matter (Afrobarometer, 2022).

In this context, with the LIBRE project carried out in Guinea and funded by the European Union, ASF France, the Club des Jeunes Filles Leaders de Guinée (CJFLG) and ONG CPDH Guinée are committed to:
✅ Offer comprehensive support to survivors of GBV.
✅ Raise community awareness to break taboos.
✅ Strengthen the capacities of key players to combat impunity.

Awareness-raising sessions led by the Club des Jeunes Filles Leaders de Guinée (CJFLG) and discussion-debates as part of school clubs set up by the NGO CPDH Guinée will be held between March 15 and March 22 in Conakry, Mamou and Kankan on the theme chosen for this International Women's Rights Day 2025: “For all women and girls: rights, equality and empowerment”.
