🎉 12 March 2025: a milestone has been reached! The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe has adopted the Convention on the Protection of the Profession of Lawyer, after more than two years of work by the Committee of Experts on the Protection of Lawyers (CJ-AV), under the direction of the European Committee on Legal Co-operation (CDCJ). Avocats Sans Frontières France is proud to have contributed to this progress as an observer.

✍️ This is only the beginning! For this Convention to come to life, the Member States must now sign and ratify it. See you on 13 May 2025 in Luxembourg for the official opening for signatures.

Why is this important? Because a protected lawyer means a guarantee of fairer justice and the rule of law for everyone. Avocats Sans Frontières France will remain mobilised to monitor and support this progress.
