LUDOSIG - Fight against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity

OBJECTIVES

  • Main objective
Contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of LGBTI people in Cameroon. This objective will be achieved through actions aimed at combating all forms of discrimination to which LGBTI people are subjected, including harassment, marginalization, discrimination and aggression based on sexual orientation or gender identity, real or perceived.
 
  • Specific objective
To provide assistance and protection to LGBTI people and their defenders while strengthening their role and legitimacy in Cameroon.
 
 
Project Location: Yaoundé, Douala, Bafoussam, Bamenda, N'Gaoundéré and Garoua.

ACTIVITIES

  • Organization of 4 workshops on the LGBTI theme:
- "Advocacy techniques and mechanisms of human rights defenders".
 
- "Human Rights and the Protection of Vulnerable Persons".
 
- "The popularization of Resolution 275 of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR) among actors in charge of human rights in Cameroon".
 
- "State and Non-State Actors on Human Rights and the Protection of Vulnerable Persons".

EXPECTED RESULTS

Result 1: LGBTI people in the project areas were provided with adequate protection and defense.
 
Result 2: Visibility and cooperation between LGBTI actors in Cameroon in the areas covered by the project are strengthened.
 
Result 3: In the areas targeted by the project, the dialogue between the Cameroonian authorities and local and international organizations defending the rights of LGBTI people is improved.
