As part of the LIBRE project (Lutte contre l'Impunité des auteurs de violences Basées sur le Genre pour renforcer l'Égalité des Genres en Guinée), funded by the European Union (EU), Avocats Sans Frontières France is continuing its commitment to women's rights. From 22 to 29 January, we are travelling to the towns of Mamou and Kankan in Guinea for a series of practical workshops with magistrates, doctors and other civil society players.

The aim of the training will be to step up the fight against gender-based violence and improve care for victims in Guinea. Françoise Bastien-Rabner and Caroline Walter, volunteer experts with Avocats Sans Frontières France, will be the main facilitators of these workshops.

On the programme:

🔹 Identifying gender-based violence (GBV) and the obstacles to providing care.

🔹 Practical training on techniques for interviewing victims and compiling solid files, including detailed medical certificates.

On the first day of training, we were honoured to hear a presentation by the President of the Mamou Court of First Instance. A gynaecologist from Dalaba also shared his expertise through an interview on the management of cases of GBV.
