Avocats Sans Frontières France leaves X

📢 Avocats Sans Frontières France has decided to leave X (formerly Twitter), in the face of the rise of hate speech and the devaluation of charitable causes, including those related to human rights.

🔴 Since its acquisition by Elon Musk, the social network has encouraged disinformation and cyberbullying, particularly against human rights defenders, exiles and minorities.

The lack of moderation and fact-checking services, combined with the prominence of extremist content and biased political campaigns, now prevents this network from being a place for free and informed discussion.

⚖️ This platform thus goes against ASF France's values of #Justice, #Solidarity and #Freedom, which we strive to defend and promote in each of our projects.

We are aware that this departure may limit our ability to raise awareness and challenge. However, X has become a space where the ideas of justice and equality are stifled by violence and misinformation, where hate dominates and nuance disappears.

✊ Our commitment does not end there. ASF France continues to be the voice of the most vulnerable and to denounce violations of fundamental rights. Our fight continues, because a fairer society cannot exist without a strong voice in favour of human rights and freedoms.
