On 20 March 2025, the first steering committee of the LIBRE! project was held.
This workshop provided an opportunity to present an overview of the level of implementation of the project, but also and above all to share the challenges and issues encountered in the fight against gender-based violence (GBV) in Guinea by those working in the field.
The need for coordinated action has been raised by all stakeholders (authorities, civil society actors, the European Union, the United Nations system) and this will have a significant impact at several levels: whether in the establishment of a framework for consultation between the actors fighting against GBV in Guinea, the optimisation of the GBV database developed by the Ministry of Women's Affairs or in order to maximise advocacy for changing behaviour around GBV in Guinea.
Many thanks to the European Union for their financial support and to all the participants for these exchanges, which herald close collaboration in the fight against GBV and for gender equality in Guinea!
