Stéphane Brabant, expert lawyer at ASFF, came to give as complete and concrete a perspective as possible on the reasons for and meaning of corporate social responsibility and in particular their respect for human rights, including through their ‘duty of vigilance’, from Kofi Annan's speech in Davos in 1999 to recent days.
📝 To remember
The duty of vigilance and, more generally, the 2011 UNGPs, are a key tool for ensuring respect for fundamental rights in international economic mechanisms. Companies, states, NGOs, international organisations... all have a role to play in making this a reality.
